The Garden City Duplicate Bridge Club board met yesterday to discuss moving the club to a new location. After a presentation by Ken Bryan, Club President, outlining the advantages of the move and the affordability, and discussion and questions by board members and several members of the club who were in attendance, the board voted unanimously to pursue a three year lease at our new location:  2825 Stockyard Road, Suite I-3. The new lease will go into effect on November 1, 2014. To help facilitate the move, the monthly Saturday unit game that was scheduled for November 1 has been rescheduled to take place a week later on November 8.

Here is the upcoming schedule:

Friday, October 31:
1 p.m. Open Pairs (last game at the Welcoma Club)

Saturday, November 1:
10 a.m. Moving Party--Meet at the Welcoma Club. Pizza at break/lunch. Please let Ken or Paul know if you will be able to attend. Our biggest need is for people who are physically able to lift moderately heavy boxes and related items.

Monday, November 3:
9:30 a.m. Bridge Lesson/Game
1 p.m. Open Pairs
6:15 p.m. BCM Novice Game

Hope to see you all there!

Directions:
The new club location is near the corner of Stockyard Road and Old Grant Creek Road, just north of the railroad tracks off of North Reserve Street. It is located in the North Reserve Business Center complex, in a green and tan building labeled capital letter "I." The club is located in Suite 3, which is in the northwest corner of the building on the first floor. The north side of the building has handicap parking and an accessible entrance. You can also enter from the south side of the building.

1. From I-90 W (north side of town). Take Exit 101 (US-93 S/Reserve Street), heading south (toward Hamilton). Drive 0.6 miles and take a left onto Howard Raser Avenue (at the stop light, allowing you to take a left on Reserve St. safely when there is traffic). Drive 0.2 miles and turn right onto Grant Creek Road/Old Grant Creek Road. Drive 0.3 miles and turn right onto Stockyard Road. Drive 150 feet and turn left at a sign labeled, "North Reserve Business Center" (directly across the street from the Norco building). You will pass the club on your left as you approach this turn.

2. From US-93 N (south side of town). Drive 4.7 miles north on South Reserve Street. Turn right onto Stockyard Road. Drive 0.3 miles and turn right at a sign labeled, "North Reserve Business Center" (directly across the street from the Norco building) The club is located in the first building on your left.

3. Traveling from the south side of town and want to avoid driving on Reserve Street? Try one of these alternate routes:

3A. Russell Street Option: Take Russell Street north and turn left onto West Broadway Street. Drive 1.7 miles and turn onto the North Reserve Street ramp (merging onto North Reserve). Drive 0.3 miles and turn right onto Stockyard Road. Drive 0.3 miles and turn right at a sign labeled, "North Reserve Business Center" (directly across the street from the Norco building). The club is located in the first building on your left.

3B. Orange Street Interstate Option: Take Orange Street north to I-90 W. Drive 2.6 miles west on I-90 to Exit 101. Then follow the option 1 directions listed above for getting to the club from the north.

3C. Orange Street Backroads Option: Take Orange Street north, cross West Broadway and turn left onto West Spruce Street. Drive 0.5 miles and turn right onto Scott Street. Drive 0.8 miles and turn left onto Rogers Street. Follow Rogers Street for 1.7 miles as it turns into Cemetary Road then Raser Drive and eventually Old Grant Creek Road. Turn left onto Stockyard Road. Drive 150 feet and turn left at a sign labeled, "North Reserve Business Center" (directly across the street from the Norco building). You will pass the club on your left as you approach this turn.
